The Chicago Pride Parade is one of the longest-running Pride celebrations in the world, with roots tracing back to Chicago’s first Gay Liberation March in 1970.
Organized to commemorate the historic Stonewall uprising, the Parade has grown from a modest march into one of Chicago’s most celebrated traditions, drawing participants and spectators from across the city and beyond and reaching even more viewers through its live broadcast on ABC7 Chicago.
Through the decades, the Parade has grown in size and scope while holding onto the spontaneity, vibrancy, and joyful energy at its heart. It remains a celebration of love and unity.
