Pride in Chicago
June is dedicated to honoring the 1969 Stonewall Riots and recognizing the contributions and efforts to achieve equality for the LGBTQ+ community. From Chicago Pride Fest to the iconic Chicago Pride Parade, Chicago knows how to celebrate LGBTQ+ Pride!
A majority of the Pride month events take place in the landmark LGBTQ+ Northalsted neighborhood (commonly referred to as “Boystown”), the first official gay neighborhood in the country, but celebrations – from street festivals, concerts, and parties – take place all over the city.
The City of Chicago remains a safe space for LGBTQ+ Chicago residents and visitors.
Chicago Pride Fest
Chicago Pride Fest, organized by the Northalsted Business Alliance, features live music on 3 stages, a Youth Pride Space for teens, best of Chicago drag performance, the Proud Pet Parade with prizes, dance exhibitions, Chicago Gay Men’s Chorus, guest speakers and over 150 food and merchandise vendors.
Navy Pier Pride
The annual Navy Pier Pride celebration is a free, full-day event that celebrates diversity, inclusivity, and support for the LGBTQ+ community. Festivities include live music, educational programs, performances from local LGBTQ+ artists, on-site resources from community partners and more.
Chicago Pride Parade
The Chicago Pride Parade, organized by PRIDEChicago, traditionally concludes the city’s month-long pride celebrations. The Parade has become an iconic symbol of love, acceptance, and support for LGBTQ+ rights, attracting millions of participants, spectators, and supporters.
