Marching Out Front

Since 2025, the Chicago Pride Parade has shone a spotlight on an Out Front Group: a community organization whose work strengthens Chicago’s LGBTQ+ community. Marching at the front of the parade, they represent the many organizations that show up for our community every day of the year, offering support, building connection and creating change.

To honor their impact, PRIDEChicago brings our Out Front Group to the front of the parade with free entry, a float and a $5,000 community grant to help continue their work.

Their work reminds us that Pride is built by community, and it inspires all of us to keep showing up for one another.

Out Front Honoree

In 2026, the Puerto Rican Cultural Center (PRCC) was honored for its decades of grassroots work in Chicago’s Humboldt Park neighborhood to dismantle homophobia and transphobia and to make LGBTQ+ advocacy central to public health and housing justice. Its programs are national models for intersectional care. El Rescate Transitional Living provides essential housing for LGBTQ+ and HIV+ youth experiencing homelessness, and Vida/SIDA delivers culturally competent health and prevention services that keep LGBTQ+ equity at the heart of Chicago’s Puerto Rican and Latine communities. Leading the parade under the theme “Free to Be Proud,” the PRCC showed that freedom is only real when it includes a safe place to sleep, affirming healthcare and a community that celebrates who you are.

Out Front Honoree

In 2025, TaskForce Prevention & Community Services (TaskForce Chicago) was honored as our very first Out Front Honoree for its decades of service to LGBTQ+ youth on Chicago’s West Side. Founded in 1990, TaskForce is the oldest Black-led LGBTQ+ organization in Chicago, offering a safe space and services from HIV prevention to housing referrals, with a focus on youth from underserved and historically excluded communities. Its Vogue School, often the first place young people connect with TaskForce, gives them a safe place to explore the art and history of voguing. Leading the parade with a float inspired by ballroom culture and its new West Side community center, TaskForce’s youth turned the route into a celebration of resilience, creativity and queer joy.
