What a year it’s been! Chicago truly showed up for Pride. Here are ten moments that made 2025 unforgettable:

1. Inaugural “Out Front” Leader

TaskForce Prevention & Community Services — a West Side LGBTQ+ youth-focused health and wellness organization — made history as the first-ever Out Front leader of the 2025 Chicago Pride Parade.

2. First-Ever “Out Front” Grant

PRIDEChicago awarded TaskForce a $5,000 grant in support of their vital community health and wellness programs.

3. Community-Selected Grand Marshals

For the first time in parade history, Community Grand Marshals were chosen through a public nomination process. Dr. Maya Green and Dr. Catherine Creticos were honored for their leadership, advocacy, and lasting impact.

4. Allyship Recognized

2025 marked a historic first as Dr. Creticos became the first ally ever to serve as a Community Grand Marshal in the parade’s history.

5. A Powerful Parade Start

Bikes & Mics and Dykes on Bikes led the parade, setting the tone for a vibrant, joyful, and empowering day. (view photos)

6. A Milestone Year as a Nonprofit

PRIDEChicago completed its first year as a 501(c)(3) organization—strengthening our mission to keep the parade rooted in community and powered by volunteers.

7. Record Volunteer Participation

More than 250 registered volunteers supported the 2025 parade, making it one of our largest volunteer-powered events yet. (register to volunteer)

8. City Recognition & Impact

The Chicago City Council honored PRIDEChicago and this year’s community leaders with a formal resolution. The city later reported a record-breaking $1 billion in summer tourism revenue — with Pride celebrations playing an important role in that success.

9. First-Ever Pride Kickoff

The parade welcomed new community groups and small businesses, including Dorothy, Logan Parlor (Hair Has No Gender), Team Rowan, and Life is Work—further strengthening Pride’s neighborhood connections and uniting Chicago together in Pride.
