SUMMARY:Andersonville Midsommarfest
DESCRIPTION:One of Chicago’s most legendary street festivals and Andersonville’s quintessential yearly celebration\, Andersonville Midsommarfest\, returns for its 58th year June 7-9 on Clark Street from Foster to Gregory. Admission is $10. \nPrinted Curiosities is curating this year’s first time vendor booth\, which supports up and coming LGBTQIA+\, BIPOC and female identified artists. Vendors to date include: BriBe LLC\, Claudettes Crafts\, The Daydreamers Shop\, Lathers by Luna\, MoonPerl LLC\, Painting Ms. Daisy and Sili+Bells. \nProceeds from donations and beverage sales go directly back to the Andersonville Chamber of Commerce. A portions of donations will also directly support over a dozen local non-profits including Peirce and Chappel Elementary Schools\, Chicago Women’s Health Center\, Brave Space Alliance and more. \nThe festival days and hours are:\nFriday\, June 7 | 5-10PM\nSaturday\, June 8 | 12-10PM\nSunday\, June 9 | 12-10PM

SUMMARY:“Never Doubt: We Are Here” Pride Concert & Dance
DESCRIPTION:Artemis Singers\, Chicago’s lesbian feminist chorus\, presents “Never Doubt: We Are Here” Pride Concert & Dance. The nonprofit chorus\, now in its 44th year\, specializes in performing music written or arranged by women. \nArtemis Singers will perform “Fast Car\,” by Tracy Chapman. \nHighlights include “Fired Up\,” by Holly Near; “Warrior\,” by Kim Baryluk and “Gather\,” by Karen Mooney. Artemis will showcase “She is on Her Way\,” by Aly Halpert and Arundhati Roy and “Truth\,” by Andrea Ramsey. In addition\, the chorus will sing “Apple Tree\,” by Aurora Aksnes\, Odd Martin Skalnes\, and Magnus Skylstad. \nArtemis Singers has grown from 30 members before the pandemic to now 43 members. \nTicket prices: $25 General Admission. Tickets are also available on a sliding scale suggested donation of $10 – $40. Additional donations are tax deductible. Artemis Singers is a 501(c)3 not for profit corporation. No one will be turned away due to lack of funds. Tickets are free for children age 12 and younger. \nMetered street parking is available. Several parking garages are located four to eight blocks from the venue. Public transportation is available via the CTA Purple Line (Davis stop\, 1612 Benson Avenue\, Evanston\, Ill.) or the Metra Rail Union Pacific-North UP-N (Davis Street stop\, 901 Davis Street\, Evanston\, Ill.)
